Blind signal reconstruction in multichannel sampled sensing  systems

Postdoctoral position at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

A postdoctoral position in signal processing theory and applications to imaging is available under the direction of Prof. Yoram Bresler at the Coordinated Science Laboratory.  The goal of the project is to develop fundamental theory, as well as computational algorithms and applications in imaging for signal reconstruction from sampled multichannel sensors, with unknown sensor characteristics.  The postdoc will be involved in all aspects of the project.

Requirements include:

(1) PhD in electrical engineering or mathematics, or related area.

(2) Established research record with solid publications and the ability to work fairly independently.

(3) Strong background in signal processing and applied mathematics (relevant specialties are: filter banks, frame theory, sampling theory, estimation theory, numerical harmonic analysis, functional analysis, algebra, inverse problems, optimization theory).

(4) A background in imaging, and interest in applications and  interdisciplinary work.  Experience in MRI would be an advantage. Candidates looking to develop experience in MRI are welcome to apply.

The position, available for immediate start, will provide competitive salary and benefits.  The postdoc will be based in the Coordinated Science Laboratory. The initial appointment will be for one year, with renewal up to 3 years subject to satisfactory progress , mutual agreement, and availability of funds.

TO APPLY: Applications should be emailed to ybresler@illinois.edu and consist of a cover letter describing your interest and suitability for the position, the names and contact information for at least three references, a curriculum vita, and if a recent graduate (within last 3 years) a certified transcript of Graduate-level course-work. Applications will be reviewed as they arrive, and continue to be accepted until the position is filled.
