Shankar Sadasivam received his B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering (2005) from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras, and M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering (2008) from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), where he is currently a Ph.D. candidate in the ECE department. His primary research interests are statistical signal processing, detection/estimation theory and machine learning. At UIUC, he works closely with Prof. Pierre Moulin in applying techniques from these areas to fundamental problems in information hiding. He also served as a teaching assistant for graduate level courses in Information Theory (Fall '07), Detection and Estimation Theory (Spring '08), and spent the summer of 2007 at IBM (T. J. Watson) Research Center in Hawthorne, NY, working on optimization related problems.
