RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
Coordinated Science Laboratory, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
Graduate Research Assistant: 1/2001 - present
With Prof. Minh N. Do and Prof. David C. Munson, Jr.
- Develop a new framework for the autofocus problem in synthetic aperture radar (SAR),
where conditions in the problem statement are explicitly characterized, leading to new
algorithms offering improved performance.
- Conduct a theoretical analysis of sharpness optimization approaches for SAR autofocus.
- Develop new approaches for image reconstruction in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI),
including joint estimation of the field map and image, and coil sensitivity
function estimation in parallel MRI.
- Supervise undergraduate research in audio sensor array processing, for the application of immersive
recording systems offering dynamic playback; characterize the sound field spectrum, and design adaptive
interpolation schemes.
- Participate in the DARPA sponsored "Design and
Optimization of Passive and Active Imaging Radar" project; create autofocus approaches for passive
radar.
University of Michigan
Visiting Researcher, Summer 2004
- Explore new autofocus approaches for passive and active radar.
