CGI Code

As an undergraduate research project during the spring semester of my junior year, I worked closely with a graduate student, Antonio Colomerez, at the Beckman Institute to develop a web demonstration of face recognition algorithms.  My contributions to the project consisted of the system design,  coding a GUI with JAVA, and file I/O over the web using CGI/C.

The Demo applet demonstrates the ability for a computer to recognize facial features.  Eventually, the research offers potential for computers to be able to recognize individuals by their facial characteristics. 

A screen shot of the JAVA applet is shown below.  Check out the demo! If you have a digital image of yourself, you can upload it via the web and the computer "should" identify your face, eyes, nose, etc...!
