Welcome to Henry Hao Tang's Personal Web Site
Hi there! Welcome to my personal web site.

I am currently a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) and a graduate research assistant in the Image Formation and Processing Group (IFP Group) at the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology. My advisor is Professor Thomas S. Huang.

Between 2003 and 2005, I did my M.S. in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Rutgers University. My advisor was Professor James L. Flanagan, former director of the Center for Advanced Information Processing (CAIP) and former vice president for research at Rutgers University.

Prior to coming to the United States, during 1998 through 2003 I worked as an instructor at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) and at the same time worked as a senior software engineer, research director, and research manager at Anhui USTC iFlyTEK Co., Ltd. (Ke Da Xun Fei), a leading provider of Chinese speech and language technology.

I received both of my B.E. and M.E. degrees from the Department of Electronic Engineering and Information Science at USTC in 1998 and 2003 respectively.

My broad research interests include statistical pattern recognition, machine learning, computer vision, computer graphics, speech processing, biometrics, and multimedia signal processing. Please visit the Research Section of my web site to see some demos and screen snapshots of my work.
