Biography - Ha NGUYEN


 

 

Ha Thai Nguyen was born in Phu Tho, Vietnam in June 26, 1978. He came to study in France from 1998 to 2003, where he got two Engineering Diplomas from the Ecole Polytechnique and the Ecole Nationale Superieur des Telecommunications (ENST), and a Master Degree in Distributed Networks from the University de Nice and Sophia-Antipolis.

From Spring 2004, Ha T. Nguyen is a Ph.D. Student of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department of the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. His principal research interests are Computer Vision, Wavelets, Nonuniform Sampling and Interpolation, Image and Multidimensional Signal Processing, and Speech Processing. His Ph.D. thesis is on Image-Based Rendering.

Ha T. Nguyen received a Gold Medal from the 37th International Mathematical Olympiad (Bombay, India 1996). He was an EGIDE Fellow when he was in France, and now is a VEF Fellow for his graduate study at UIUC. He is a co-author (with Prof. Minh Do ) of a Best Student Paper in the 2005 IEEE International Conference on Audio, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP), Philadelphia, PA, USA.
