My name is Bo Tan, and my English name is "Rambo". In Chinese, "Bo" means "Ph.D." as a noun or "knowledgeable" as an adjective. I was born in Wenzhou, one of the most famous business cities in China.
In June 2003, I ranked NO.1 out of all the examinees in Wenzhou in the highly competitive National College Entrance Examinations, and entered Tsinghua University, one of the most pretigious universities in China. In July 2007, I got my B.E. degree with high honor from the Department of Electronic Engineering in Tsinghua University. In December 2008, I got my M.S. degree from the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering in the University of Illinois at Urbana - Chmapaign, where now I am pursuing a Ph.D. degree.
Since August 2007, I have been a Research Assitant in Coordinated Science Laboratory at UIUC. My advisor is Professor R. Srikant. My research interests include wireless networks, the Internet and P2P networks.
At the same time, I have been serving as the President of Tsinghua University Alumni Association in UIUC since December 2008, and a board member of Tsinghua University Alumni Association in Great Chicago Area since May 2009.
